Deciding where we live: A sense of place, time, and community.
Jack Widness
This will be a shared interactive group conversation—not a lecture—about how we have come to choose where we live. Using myself as an example I will describe why I have chosen to live in southern Vermont: my parents’ family history, coming back to Wilmington and Lake Raponda for short summer family vacations throughout my life, and the rural, mountainous natural world full of surprises, beauty, and place to continue to grow as I admire Mother Nature's good works. More important to this conversation will be to learn from each member of the group present about “their unique and important story.” While most of stories are likely to be told by seniors, there will be something valuable that all ages will be able to take home.

Get and give ideas and information about Wilmington's 2020 Old Home Week. Their committee has a whole lot of ideas percolating. Wilmington has been holding Old Home Week celebrations every 10 years since 1890. It is a wonderful celebration that draws all sorts of folks back here who have moved away.
